Molecular regulatory network of PD-1/PD-L1 in non-small cell lung cancer

•Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the major pathologic subtype of lung cancer.•Four immunotherapy drugs targeting PD-1/PD-L1 checkpoints are used to treat NSCLC.•The mechanisms of PD-L1 regulation are not clearly understood.•This review provides an overview of recent updates on PD-L1 regulation.
