PRS45 MEDICATION USE IN ADDITION TO KINESITHERAPIE RESPIRATOIRE THERAPY AMONG INFANTS WITH BRONCHIOLITIS

The aim of our work was to introduce the medication therapy of children with bronchiolitis receiving kinesitherapie respiratoire therapy in the Upper Rhine region. The study period was 1 year, which lasted from December 2017 to December 2018. The site of the investigation was France, Upper Rhine. Our sample number was 127 people (n=127, 79 boys, 48 girls). Their average age was 20.01 months (youngest: 3.13 months, oldest: 50.86 months). Everyone had bronchiolitis diagnosis, and kinesitherapie respiratoire was prescribed for them on medical advice. In 89.8% of cases, the diagnosis on the referral was bronchiolitis in 114 patients. Of 127 children, 31 (24.4%) received antibiotic treatment, of which 23 had amoxicillin as active substance, while in 2 cases it was josamycin, and in 6 people they were unable to identify the antibiotic. Of the 127 people, 70 (55.11%) did not receive aerosol therapy and 57 (44.88%) did receive it. Only 38 (29.9%) received bronchodilators, 3 (2.4%) used anti-inflammatory drugs, while 17 (13.4%) received bronchodilators and anti-inflammatory drugs too. Among patients receiving aerosol therapy, the ordering of active substances was the following: salbutamol 35 cases, betamethasone 2 cases, corticosteroids 2 cases, thixocortol 1 case, salbutamol, fluticasone propionate, and betamethasone together 2 cases, salbutamol and betamethasone together 4 cases, salbutamol and fluticasone propionate together 6 cases, salbutamol and fluticasone propionate together 4 cases, corticosteroid and salbutamol 1 case. Our findings suggest that antibiotic treatment with amoxicillin has been reported the most frequently among infants with bronchiolitis in France, in the Upper Rhine region during the winter. Of the aerosol therapies, bronchodilator aerosols with salbutamol were used most often among the participants in the study. The anti-inflammatory agent was preferably used together with the bronchodilator.
