Deactivation study of zirconocene immobilization into Lewis acid and dual-shell silicas prepared by a nonhydrolytic sol-gel method

•A new class of polymerization catalysts was described as a Dual-shell silica structures.•Lewis acid catalysts get improvements at poison tolerance for silica-based catalysts.•The two-layered catalysts show atmospheric air tolerance whit a near sixty days half-life time.
