International Journal of Surgery Open(2019)
摘要
•From our study, lower limb amputation survival rate at 1 year was 84.13% and at 5 years was 48.6%.•Chronic kidney disease and ischaemic heart disease have significant independent relationship with mortality.•Better perioperative management of cardiac risk factors may improve post amputation survival.•Conservative approach may be considered for patients with chronic kidney disease and those on haemodialysis.•Prosthetic prescription should be carefully chosen, as it may worsen the underlying cardiovascular status.
