摘要
The power quality improvement became a focus for researchers due to the increase of the nonlinear loads connected to the distribution networks. High quality of power service is needed since the electrical equipment is being more sensitive. One means of improving system reliability is the improvement of the voltage profile and reduction of losses via the optimum choice of distributed generation (DG) size and location. This paper studies this optimization problem when applied to the East Delta Network (EDN) in Egypt. Particle Swarm Optimization is used to solve the multi-objective problem to find the minimum power losses and maximum voltage stability for the system while taking into consideration the system technical constraints. The presented technique is applied for three cases; using one DG, two DGs, and three DGs. The outcome results from the presented approach showed a remarkable enhancement for the power quality of the system for all the three cases.
