Impedance Spectroscopic Investigation of the Impact of Erroneous Cell Assembly on the Aging of Lithium‐Ion Batteries

摘要
The impact of erroneously aligned electrodes on the aging of stacked large‐format lithium‐ion batteries is monitored by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). Based on the application of the distribution of relaxation times (DRT) method, the deterioration of the kinetics of anode and cathode due to prolonged cycling can be determined individually. Cells with different degrees of erroneous electrode positioning are produced and compared. Thereby, the origin of the accelerated aging of cells with misaligned electrodes is revealed.
