A Research for Miniaturized Circular Polarization Antenna

A new design of a miniaturized circular polarization antenna element is proposed and presented for antenna array. The antenna-size reduction is achieved by adding four centrosymmetric `P-shaped slots end to the edge of a octagonal patch at the corner. It is very slight also comparing with common patch antenna. In order to get a compact and facile design producing circular polarization electromagnetic wave, two L-shaped feed line with vertical coaxial line ends to a microstrip transmission line runs parallel to the patch is used. The structure of the antenna and feed is studied and simulated with HFSS on computer.
