Innovative design and study of an oil-water coupling separation magnetic hydrocyclone

摘要
In order to improve oil-water hydrocyclone separation efficiency, a magnetic hydrocyclone (MHC) under coupling action of a centrifugal force field and a magnetic field was designed. It mainly consists of a hydrocyclone and a magnetic core that installed inside by a number of coils. During the separation process, magnetic particles are subjected to centrifugal force and magnetic force simultaneously, so they could “carry” or “push” part of the oil droplets towards the center of the hydrocyclone through contact and collision between magnetic particles and oil droplets, and ultimately achieve more efficient separation of oil and water.
