A Study on the Performance of Solid Oxide Fuel Cells Based on Pr0.5Sr0.5Co0.8Cu0.2O3–δ-xSDC Composite Cathode

The solid oxide fuel cell is a kind of all-solid-state fuel cell for energy conversion. In this paper, the Pr0.5Sr0.5Co0.8CuO0.O-2(3-delta) (PSCC) cathode material was prepared with the sol-gel method, and the Ce0.85Gd0.15O1.925 (SDC) electrolyte material was prepared through glycine combustion. The PSCC and SDC were mixed in proportion and synthesized into the composite cathode PSCC-xSDC (x = 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, wt.%). Through XRD observation, good chemical compatibility was shown between PSCC and SDC. When x = 50, the impedance and power density of cathode symmetric battery and single battery were the best. The Impedance value of PSCC-50SDC/SDC/PSCC-50SDC symmetric battery was 0.029 Omega cm(2) when at 800 degrees C and the power density of single battery was 428.18 mW/cm(2).
