Abstract
In Mexico, the cultivation of yaca, also known as jaca, (Artocarpus heterophyllus Lam., Moraceae) has an established area of 1,275 ha and an annual production of 18,610 t. By volume and extension, Nayarit is the main producer with 90% of the national production with 17,053 t distributed in 1,150 ha (SIAP 2016). Currently, yaca is considered a profitable alternative where the majority of production is exported to the United States of America (Luna et al., 2013). This crop is attacked mainly by scales, cochineals, and aphids (Nova and Arrambide 1994, Crane and Balerdi 2000). Aphis (Toxoptera) aurantii (Boons de Fonscolombe, 1841) is a tropical species native to Asia considered polyphagous and recorded in more than 120 species of numerous plant families by Holman (2009) and Blackman and Eastop (2016), although in the case of Artocarpus only refer to A.
