Impact of the New ACC/AHA and ESC/ESH Hypertension Guidelines for Norway.

The Norwegian Society of Cardiology and the Norwegian Society of Hypertension have endorsed the different versions of the European Hypertension Guidelines since they were first issued in 2003. Risk assessment of cardiovascular (CV) morbidity and mortality in healthy people with mild essential hypertension [blood pressure (BP) below 160/100 mmHg] is based on national epidemiology and a specific risk score (NORRISK 2) which is available from the website of the Norwegian Directorate of Health.
