Maternal and Perinatal Outcome Related to Severity of Chronic Hypertension in Pregnancy.

•The severity of chronic hypertension in pregnancy is associated with maternal and perinatal outcome.•Stage 2 chronic hypertension increase the risk of maternal death 7.2 fold, and maternal complications.•Stage 2 chronic hypertension increase the risk of prematurity, low birth weight, and low apgar score.•Preconception and antenatal intervention to prevent progression to stage 2 may improve maternal and perinatal outcome.
