The diagnostic value of anthropometric indices of maxillary sinuses for sex determination using CT-scan images in Iranian adults: A cross-sectional study

•There was a significant difference between two sexes in the maxillary anthropometric criteria.•The maximum distance between the right and left maxillary sinuses was significant.•The maximum distance between sinuses in the 20–34 age group was the most accurate.•The highest accuracy for sex determination was the maximum distance between the sinuses.
