摘要
and screening would reduce the number of CRC cases diagnosed in a preclinical or clinical C/D stage of cancer in around 1,700 cases per 1 million individuals.Under 1-yearly screening, 222,887 polyps would be detected, and 133,087 polyps would be identified if a 2-yearly screening is applied. The cost-benefit analysis showed that the direct cost of no screening (MXN$744 million) would be lower than that the cost of annual (MXN$826 million) or biennial screening (MXN$813 million). However, incorporating benefits (savings in CRC treatment costs, income lost due to premature death, disability pensions and opportunity costs for the carer) would produce net savings of MXN$98,015 million and $73,133 million for the annual and biennial screening, respectively. Conclusion: The implementation of a CRC screening programme in Mexico could prevent the CRC incidence, and its early diagnosis could decrease the CRC-related mortality. In addition, this could also have significant financial benefits over no screening.
