Dual functional porous anti-reflective coatings with a photocatalytic effect based on a single layer system

•Double functional coatings with antireflection and photocatalytic properties were studied.•An improvement of the transmittance from T = 90.51% to T = 95.61% was achieved.•Stability and scratch tests make the AR coatings sustainable for the industrial production.•In order to have photocatalytic properties optimal amount of TiO2 was obtained.
