Ionomer solution to film solidification dependence upon solvent type and its impact upon morphology and ion transport

•PBC morphology, transport, and physical properties were casting-solvent dependent.•ΔGmix and χ were predicted for PBC dissolved in THF, CHCl3, and C:H.•Ionomer morphology transitioned from random to non-random due to solvent.•PBC with a lamella-like morphology had stable conductivity vs. a random structure.
