Survival in cardiopulmonary resuscitation due to massive pulmonary embolism: A case series in a tertiary hospital

Background and purpose: Cardiac arrest (CA) due to massive pulmonary embolism (PE) has an overall low survival. Early diagnosis and treatment are essential for survival and outcome of these patients. Specific treatments include fibrinolytics, surgical embolectomy and percutaneous mechanical thrombectomy. We describe the outcomes of these kind of patients in a Spanish tertiary hospital.
