Simulation of particle-laden flow in a Humphrey spiral concentrator using dust-liquid smoothed particle hydrodynamics

•The dusty-liquid SPH model is employed to simulate the flow in an HSC.•The influences of various design factors of the HSC are investigated.•In all the tests, flow in the HSC is successfully simulated using our SPH model.•The simulation results agreed well the experimental results.
