Glycerol hydrodeoxygenation to 1,2-propanediol catalyzed by CuPd/TiO2-Na

摘要
•A novel Cu-Pd bimetallic catalyst supported on TiO2-Na is active, selective and stable during glycerol hydrodeoxygenation towards 1,2-PDO.•Formation of CuPd alloy nanoparticles is evidenced by XRD, SAED, HRTEM, chemisorption-titration and H2-TPR.•The Cu-Pd interaction facilitates the reduction of Cu at low temperature, improves its dispersion and creates a stable structure.•Pd also favors the activation and generation of hydrogen via glycerol reforming.•Presence of Na on the catalyst facilitates the conversion of glycerol, improves the selectivity towards 1,2-PDO and prevents leaching of copper.
