Geostatistical modeling of the geological uncertainty in an iron ore deposit

•A modeling of geological properties in an iron ore deposit is undertaken.•The rock type is first simulated by use of the plurigaussian model.•Quantitative variables are then simulated with the multigaussian model.•Simulation reproduces the geological controls exerted by the former on the latter.•The geological uncertainty can be quantified from the simulated outcomes.
