摘要

•Microspheres of PEGylated MoS2 nanosheets were synthesised by hydrothermal route.•PEGylated MoS2 have shown good cytotoxicity towards breast cancer (MCF-7) cells.•For comparison, h-MoO3 nanorods were prepared by simple chemical route.•h-MoO3 have exhibited excellent cytotoxicity towards lung (A549) cancer cells.
