6.35 EARLY CLINICAL INDICATORS OF PERSISTENT ATTENTION-DEFICIT/HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER IN LOW BIRTH WEIGHT/PRETERM SURVIVORS

Previous research on a prospective cohort of preterm infants with low birth weight identified three latent classes based on longitudinal patterns of ADHD symptoms. One class had persistent inattention problems through adolescence but differed slightly from the other classes in terms of ADHD presentation at age 6 years. This study attempts to identify characteristics that might distinguish children likely to have chronic inattention problems from those whose symptoms are considered minor or transitory.
