Shear strength prediction for steel fiber reinforced concrete beams without stirrups

•A new model for shear strength prediction of SFRC was proposed.•Fiber contribution was introduced by a theoretical method.•The predicted shear strength is in good agreement with the test results.•The proposed model can reflect the studied parameters well.
