Effects of 904 nm low-level laser therapy (LLLT) on muscle healing process after myonecrosis

Background: Snakebites are a neglected public health problem in tropical countries like Brazil. Antivenom therapy has limited efficacy against local effect. The topic incidence of Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is promising given irradiation promotes fibroblast proliferation and thus synthesis of procollagen and collagen, improves microcirculation, stimulates macrophages's removal of local debris, ameliorates lymphocytes immunoreaction and improves mitochondrial energy metabolism.
