Modern load profile for standalone PV rural household in Malaysia

This study presents a modern load profile (Load Profile 2.0) for a 660 square feet rural household where modern lifestyle of the occupants and home appliances are considered. This load profile is compared against a dated load profile of a standalone PV rural household with battery system (Load Profile 1.0) which is recorded in 2008. Both load profiles are tested in a similar standalone PV system with battery system, which is constructed in 2008, to present the adaptability of the dated standalone PV system to updated Load Profile 2.0. The detailed experimental result of both load profiles are presented. The results highlight that the standalone PV system with battery is able to supply energy to Load Profile 2.0 without failure while maintaining the battery SOC above 62%.
