摘要
•Mesh update method allows to use boundary-conforming methods for twin-screw extruders.•Very efficient method; no re-meshing needed and only based on algebraic operations.•2D and 3D mesh convergence achieved using non-Newtonian fluids.•A correspondence with experiments conducted with corn syrup could be shown.•3D time-dependent temperature results using multiple screw elements are presented.
