Identification and antimicrobial susceptibility of clinical Nocardia species in a tertiary hospital.

•Nocardia cyriacigeorgica was the most frequently isolated Nocardia species.•Ciprofloxacin and clarithromycin had low susceptibility for all clinically isolated Nocardia.•All isolates were susceptible to trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole and linezolid.•Clinically isolated Nocardia spp. had diverse drug susceptibility patterns.•Nocardia isolates show a characteristic geographic distribution in China.
