Characterization of the Complete Chloroplast Genome of the Chinese Endemic Plant Toricellia Angulata (apiales: Torricelliaceae)
Conservation genetics resources(2016)
摘要
Toricellia angulata is a threatened plant with high medicinal values, and is endemic to Central and Southwest China. In this study, we assembled its complete chloroplast genome from high-throughput sequencing data. The circular double-stranded genome is 151,336 bp in length, and exhibits a typical quadripartite structure of the large (LSC, 81,055 bp) and small (SSC, 18,559 bp) single-copy regions, separated by a pair of inverted repeat regions (IRs, 25,861 bp each). It contains 131 genes, including 87 protein-coding genes (79 PCG species), 36 transfer RNA genes (29 tRNA species) and eight ribosomal RNA genes (four rRNA species). The nucleotide composition is asymmetric (31.09% A, 18.81% C, 18.18% G and 31.92% T) with an overall A+T content of 63.01% ('light strand'). Phylogenetic analysis suggests that Torricelliaceae (as represented by T. angulata) is distantly related to two other families (Araliaceae and Apiaceae) within the order Apiales.
