Intensification of highly exothermic fast reaction by multi-injection microstructured reactor

•A multi-injection reactor made of low temperature co-fired ceramics for harsh media.•IR thermography allows quantitative temperature characterization inside the reactor.•The herringbone mixing structure was efficient in broad range of Reynolds numbers.•500-fold process intensification of fast exothermic cyclization of pseudoionone.
