AbstractThe isothioureas shown in the scheme efficiently promote the [2 + 2] cycloaddition of sulfonylaldimines to arylacetic acids and anhydrides as well as (phenylthio)acetic acid giving 3,4‐anti‐substituted β‐lactams with good to high stereoselectivity.
