Extraction And Pc-Based Display Of Blood Regions In Heart, Bones And Other Organs Using Multi-Sliced Ct Images

As many images obtained by multi-sliced CT equipments, there is some difficulty to observe all images. Especially for human chest part, there are many organs including moving heart and chest photographed in CT images. For the convenience of observation of such time-sequenced images, a display system for observation of movement of heart and/or chest using multi-sliced CT images must be constructed. As CT values of organs except blood and bone are very similar and bloods are included mainly in heart and aorta, blood areas could present heart's movement. In the proposed method, blood and bones would be extracted and bones would be re-extracted. And, then, only blood could be remained. Finally generated animated images are displayed on PC-based display system.
