Capitalizing on the Scholar/Practitioner: National and International Education of the S/P Doctorate

This panel provides a discussion of the current state of the national and international education of the scholar/practitioner doctorate, and involves consulting, OD and change and strategizing activities and practice. Particularly, the Management Consulting Division is the division dedicated to the bridging and the creation of collaboration between the Scholar and the Practitioner. This panel reviews and discusses current activities pertaining to a major link in this objective: the education of the Scholar/Practitioner. The discussion focuses on experiences in three doctoral programs: the University of Lyon in France, the University of St. Thomas and Benedictine University in the USA. It also addresses experiences in the U.S., Europe and the Middle East. Panelists include three Past Chairs of the MC Division and a Past Chair of the ODC Division. Topics discussed include challenges, approaches, useful research and double loop learning.
