Island Detection System Based on Multi-criteria

Island detection is an essential protecting action in a distributed generating system. Island detecting is generally divided into two kinds, one is active island detecting, another is passive island detecting. The disturbance signal in active island detecting always causes pollution to power quality while the passive island detecting has long detecting time and large dead zone. All the existing detection methods have blind zone which cause detection failure. Aiming at blind zone in island detection, this paper presents wavelet entropy and pattern recognition to analyze. And then combining it with passive island detecting, which can reduce even eliminate blind zone. This paper simulates in Mat lab, and then develops a device to verify the method this paper presents.
