Upwind Strategies for the Euler Equations Based on Characteristic Analysis

In this paper, different upwind strategies based on characteristic analysis are presented. Their performance concerning solution accuracy, grid independence and convergence behavior are investigated and are compared through various type of problems, including subsonic, transonic and supersonic flows.
