摘要

•A soluble calnexin was purified from human placenta and characterised.•The protein was cleaved after residue 472, thus liberating it from the ER membrane.•The soluble calnexin had a structure consistent with the published crystallography model.•Soluble calnexin may fulfill functions similar to calreticulin.
