The effects of a strong magnetic field, a uniaxial pressure, and intense ultrasound on the process of structural (martensitic) transition in polycrystals of ferromagnetic Ni 2.14Mn 0.81 Fe 0.05 Ga alloy with shape memory was experimentally investigated. It was shown that a magnetic field up to 8 T displaced the temperature hysteresis loop of martensitic transition toward the range of higher temperatures without its considerable distortion, the uniaxial pressure smeared the martensitic transition by widening the temperature hysteresis loop, and ultrasound vibration could lead to a narrowing of the hysteresis loop. © 2006 by Allerton Press, Inc.
