The broadband residential ethernet access infrastructure: Architecture, service & traffic mode, QoS provisioning and research issues

A broadband Residential Ethernet access infrastructure supporting multiservice or full-service is presented. As such, multicasting mechanism is used to provide broadcast voice and video service such as audio, TV and interactive TV. This paper discusses network architecture, service & traffic mode, QoS provisioning thoroughly. An evolving method to offer multiservice or full service in the braodband Residential Ethernet access networks is provided.
