Towards Anticipating Brokers In A Grid Environment Using Predictive Information Services

In distributed service oriented ICT environments, where broker components control and delegate the work to appropriate services, the value of information that these brokers use in their mechanisms is found to be prone to the dynamics of the infrastructure. In this paper we describe our research on anticipating brokers that make use of predictive information services. We start with a discussion about capacity and influences of the infrastructure on the brokers. Then we focus on the prediction of service capacity, and describe our study on the improvement of brokers in a service oriented grid environment. We discuss the issues of modeling and propose the use of data assimilation to predict service capacity.
