A need for high-resolution Compton scattering study of hcp metals with the use of synchrotron radiation

Compton profiles of hexagonal structure metals (Mg, Zn and Cd) were measured using high energy (662keV – 137Cs isotope gamma source) and medium resolution (0.4a.u.) Compton spectrometer in the Institute of Experimental Physics, University of Bialystok. The experimental data were compared with corresponding first principles Korringa–Kohn–Rostoker coherent potential approximation calculations (KKR-CPA).
