Tu1416 Quality Improvement Project to Increase the Rate of Screening Colonoscopy At Internal Medicine Resident Clinics: Results From Two Sites

The American College of Gastroenterology guideline recommends that all patients above 50 years of age should undergo colorectal cancer (CRC) screening and colonoscopy is the preferred and recommended modality. With the health care reform, disease prevention is crucial. However, the rates of screening colonoscopy are disappointingly low. Innovative interventions are needed to increase adherence and improve awareness among residents to increase screening for CRC. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of self-audit tool in increasing the rate of screening colonoscopy at Internal Medicine resident clinics.
