Background: Left atrial (LA) dilatation reflects chronic elevation of LA pressure and independently predicts clinical outcomes in a wide range of cardiovascular disorders. We sought to determine whether LA dilatation in hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM) resolves following successful percutaneous transluminal septal myocardial ablation (PTSMA).
