Observation of antibacterial activity of domestic vancomycin against 202 strains coagulase-negative staphylococcus(s.epidermidis,s.heamolyticus etc.) in vitro

Objective To evaluate the antibacterial activity of demethyl vancomycin against coagulase-negative staphylococci(CNS)(S.epidermidis,S.heamolyticus,etc) in vitro.Methods Deterimination of antibacterial activity of demethyl vancomycin against 202 of strains CNS(S.epidermidis,S.heamolyticus,etc) was performed using agar dilution method,and the antibacterial activity of demethyl vancomycin was compared with vancomycin(Lilly).Results The antibacterial efficiency of demethyl vancomycin against 202 strains CNS(S.epidermidis,S.heamolyticus,S lugdunensis,etc) was good,and the MIC50 and MIC90 of it against CNS(methicillin-resistant and methicillin-sensitive) were 2 and 4 mg/L respectively.Conclusion Demethyl vancomycin had strong antibacterial activity against 202 strains of coagulase-negative staphylococci,and the sensitive rates of demethyl vancomycin and vancomycin were all 100%.
