摘要
Metastatic tumours of the eye commonly occur from primaries of the breast or lung. The prognosis is poor and the mean life expectancy is 6.5 months from diagnosis. Although metastatic tumours of the eye are not a rarity, ocular metastasis from choriocarcinoma has not been reported previously. We report a case of gestational choriocarcinoma with ocular metastasis. Gestational choriocarcinoma (GCC) is a poten- tially curable neoplasm, even in the presence of metastases, with the lung being the commonest metastatic site. Rare sites of metastases include skin (1), bone (2), urinary bladder (3), thyroid (4) and right ventricle of the heart (5). Brain metastases are not uncommon and long-term survival has been possible with the introduction of methotrexate (6). Ocular metastasis of chorio- carcinoma has not been reported previously. We present a case of GCC where relapse occurred with an ocular metastasis.
