Efficacy of Therapy of Warming Yang,Removing Toxicity and Activating Blood in Treatment of Acute Myocardial Infarction

Objective To observe the efficacy of therapy of warming yang,removing toxicity and activating blood in the treatment of acute myocardial infarction(AMI),and to explore its possible mechanism.Methods Sixty AMI patients were randomly divided into experimental group and control group,30 cases in each group.All the patients of two groups were given routine western medical treatment and percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) or intravenous thrombolysis.Additionally,the experimental group was given Chinese herbal decoction with the actions of warming yang,removing toxicity and activating blood.The decoction was mainly composed of Radix Bupleuri,Ramulus Cinnamomi,Radix Scutellariae,Fructus Forsythiae,Radix Codonopsis,Rhizoma Pinelliae,Bulbus Allii Macrostemonis,Rhizoma Chuanxiong,Radix Salvia Miltiorrhiza,and Radix Glycyrrhizae.The treatment lasted two weeks,one dose per day.After treatment,we observed the changes of inflammatory factors,and measured the scores of signs and symptoms such as chest pain,chest distress,shortness of breath,palpitation,lassitude and weakness,aversion to cold,and cold extremities.Results After treatment for two weeks,both groups had high effective rate,96.67% in the experimental group and 93.33% in the control group.The experimental group had better effect on decreasing inflammatory factors and relieving symptoms than the control group(P0.05 or P0.01).No adverse reaction was found in both groups.Conclusion Chinese herbs with the actions of warming yang,removing toxicity and activating blood are effective and safe in the treatment of acute myocardial infarction through decreasing inflammatory reaction and relieving symptoms.
