Abstract
The effects of AMP, ATP, inorganic phosphate and fructose‐1, 6‐bisphosphate on glycerol‐3‐phosphate dehydrogenase (NADH) from Dunaliella tertiolecta were investigated. In addition the salt effects and the influence of different anions were studied. The results support the assumption that concentration changes of intermediates and salts by cell shrinkage during osmotic stress can account for the control of glycerol synthesis.
