The sensitivity of queueing models simulation to time discretization

The time continuum is often appoximated by discrete time units in the simulation and mathematical analysis of queueing systems, but little is known about the effects of this approximation on the final results. This study shows that the effects of time discreteness on some queueing behavior is surprisingly small, and useful implications of this finding are discussed.
