Yumao Lu

Yumao Lu received the B.Eng. degree in automatic control from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China, in 1999, the M.Phil. degree in industrial engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong, in 2001, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 2005. He has been a Scientist at Yahoo! Inc., Sunnyvale, CA, since 2005. His research interests span the fields of machine learning, information retrieval, convex and nonconvex optimization, data mining, bioinformatics, and medical imaging.
