In the past 4 years of my Ph.D. research, the concept of effectively using and recycling CO2 motivated me to study dry ice particles. I investigated, in detail, the dry ice particles generated by thermal expansion of liquid CO2, namely dry ice jet, and its application on the dry cleaning using in-situ analysis devices.
In addition to my Ph.D. project, I was also involved to proceeding two collaborating projects supported by Sharp Corporation and Canon Inc. To develop a new particle charge measuring system and a dynamic electrification device, I investigated the charging behavior of fine particles in the air flow. Through controlling the charge of the fine particles, the dispersion and transport of the particles can be remotely handled.
Before starting my Ph.D. research, I did a research project which was collaborated with ITRI (Industrial Technology Research Institute) in Taiwan. I employed electrochemical method to destabilize the charged colloidal particles in the CMP wastewater, improving the recycle efficiency of water in the semiconductor manufacturing process.
