Yun-Fang Tsai

Dr. Tsai received her BSN from National Taiwan University, TAIWAN; and completed her MS and PhD degrees at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Nursing, USA. As principal investigator for over 30 funded projects, Dr. Tsai’s research highlights the needs of minority populations in Taiwan, which are vulnerable to health-care disparities because they often cannot access care resources and are often misunderstood by the majority ethnic group. Her research has long been recognized by Taiwan's Ministry of Science and Technology and informs practice in persons with mental illness, HIV/AIDS, drinking problems, and older adults about their living experiences and symptom distresses and helping them to maintain quality of life. Dr. Tsai has served as the Chair of Chang Gung University School of Nursing since 2006. In 2017, the Chang Gung University School of Nursing ranked eighth in the Center for World University Rankings in Nursing and in 2018, 27th worldwide in the Shanghai Ranking’s global Ranking of Academic Subjects-Nursing and first in Taiwan. Both rankings emphasized her nursing faculty’s research performance. Dr. Tsai was on the international editorial board of Journal of Advanced Nursing and the Editor-in-Chief of Chang Gung Nursing. Now, she is the Associated Editor of Journal of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing.
