Now is an unprecedented rapidly aging and declining population in Japan. Prospective 18-year-old has already begins to drop, the proportion of people aged 65 or older has been rapidly rising. Until now technology for manufacturing has supported the development of this country, but the paradigm shift of science and technology be required from now on. Our laboratory is belonging Green Chemistry Research Division of the Research Institute of Green Science and Technology, and engaged in researches for contribution of the preservation of the natural environment and the technical development of aging society.Our research field is silkworm biotechnology: An advanced large-scale expression of higher order proteins using silkworm expression system; Virus-like particles preparation for drug delivery system and vaccine development; Detection of infectious diseases by functional nanoparticles. Silkworm has a great ability to synthesize protein, has been lived with human being since a long time ago. It is our dream of disseminating "Bio Road from Silk Road" of the silkworm from Japan to the world.
